Resource Agribusiness Group at BRICS Business Forum

On October 17-18, the World Trade Center in Moscow hosted the BRICS Business Forum 2024 on “BRICS Partnership: Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security”. The agenda brought together more than a thousand representatives of business circles and communities, industry associations as well as chambers of commerce and industry of the BRICS countries, and included issues on cooperation in the field of finance and investment, transport and logistics, agriculture, information and food security, sustainable development and others.

Resource Agribusiness Group delegates took part in the meetings of Agribusiness Working Group, the BRICS Business Council annual meeting and the plenary session where Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered his speech. Dmitry Antonov, Senior Vice President and Director for External Relations and GR of Resource Agribusiness Group, was among the speakers of the “Development of Agribusiness and Strengthening Food Security in the BRICS Countries” plenary session.

During his presentation on the “Agricultural trade between Russia and BRICS countries”, Dmitry Antonov paid special attention to the limiting factors for agricultural products trade and made proposals for the possible elimination of the barriers, he also touched upon the increase of the efficiency of the BRICS countries agricultural companies through cooperation and exchange of information in the field of modern technologies. He also spoke about the development of cooperation between Resource Agribusiness Group with partners in the BRICS countries, including potential investment projects in the UAE, KSA and South Africa.

Memorandum of Understanding between Resource Agribusiness Group and the South African company Remmoho Investment in Agriculture (Pty) Ltd. signed on the sidelines of the Business Forum could be a possibility to implement such projects.
