The International Forum "Russia-China: Prospects for Cooperation in the Meat Industry" was held on the sidelines of the international technologies exhibition for the agro-industrial complex professionals AGROS 2025 in Moscow on January 23. Experts discussed the state of affairs on the meat and meat processing markets along with the necessary measures to overcome barriers hindering the development of export-import operations on meat and meat products in Russia and China, as well as the possibilities of cooperation between the countries in the field of design and supply of machinery and equipment for the meat industry.
Dmitry Antonov, Senior Vice President, Director of External Relations and Sustainable Development of Resource Agribusiness Group, as one of the speakers shared in his presentation the experience of Resource Agribusiness Group organizing deliveries of poultry and sunflower products to China, as well as the logistics solutions used and the issues of enterprise certification.
During his speech, he paid special attention to interaction with Chinese importers of equipment, components and spare parts thanks to which Russian meat processing companies manage to cope with the deficit aroused after number of Western suppliers left the market. "Technological engineering of equipment for the food and processing industry continues to actively develop in our country. Of course, domestic companies actively cooperate and learn from our Chinese colleagues, who have tremendous experience in this area. Obviously, the process of change cannot be quick and simple, but I am sure that it is new technologies that will determine the appearance of Russian and Chinese agriculture in the coming years," noted Dmitry Antonov.
At the end of the forum, the Resource Agribusiness Group delegation took part in multilateral negotiations with representatives of China and Russia industry associations and business communities, where they discussed the vector of the Russian meat market development and the future of business and trade relations. As the result of the negotiations, the heads of the national meat associations of Russia and China, as well as the Russian national unions of poultry and pig breeders expressed their readiness to sign a quadripartite agreement on further cooperation.
