Agrologistics as a new point of growth: Resource Agribusiness Group became a member of the ITLF

01.04.2026
International Transport and Logistics Forum (ITLF) started on April 1, 2026 in St. Petersburg. According to the organizers, about five thousand people from more than 80 countries and territories, including representatives of government authorities, international organizations, integration associations and the business community are taking part in the event.

Dmitry Antonov, Director for External Relations and Sustainable Development, Resource Agribusiness Group, spoke at the session “Vector of International Logistics Development: balance of interests and new growth points”. In his report, he touched upon the issues of changing of food exports directions, the prospects for increasing the high-value-added products share in the total volume of foreign supplies, as well as the need to improve multimodal transportation as one of the key factors in realizing Russia's export potential:

“This will help diversify routes in the absence of long-term political stability, which is necessary for deepening railway cooperation, when risks are multiplying and there is a need to adapt supply chains to a rapidly changing environment. We are talking about the integration of road, sea and rail transport to create, if not yet seamless, then operational and cost-effective routes.”

The speaker noted that future success of agrologistics is related, among other things, to the development of containerization and creation of logistics agrohabs:

“Containerization will allow small and medium-sized businesses to enter the global market, increase exports of niche crops, and increase demand for shipping goods in containers solutions to those markets where it is currently limited (Africa and the Middle East, a number of countries in South Asia and the Asia-Pacific region). It can also become an incentive to create a national container company or companies with truly full-scale geographical coverage.”

At the end of his speech, Dmitry Antonov reminded the session participants of the importance of establishing an intersectoral dialogue and the initiative to create a Working Group on Agrologistics at the site of the Public Council under the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation:

“Our goal is to bring together key industry participants, including automobile, marine and rail carriers, manufacturers and exporters of agricultural products, to provide expert support to the Ministry of Transport in its work to create an efficient, balanced and technologically advanced system for transporting agricultural goods both inside and outside Russia. We invite all interested parties to engage in the joint work!”
